Eight Tracks Winter 2022 Auditions

The call for auditions is now open!

Do you want to join the Eight Tracks? Now is your chance! We are looking for vaccinated individuals to audition for lower voice parts (tenor and below). We value solo abilities as well as strong block singing, so you should be just as comfortable wailing on lead vocals as you are blending with the group. Previous a cappella or arranging experience is nice, as is vocal percussion ability, but none of those are required.

To be considered for an audition:

  1. Send us a quick note to let us know you’re thinking of auditioning at theeighttracks@gmail.com.

  2. Record an audition video of yourself. It doesn’t have to be fancy. You can film using your smartphone.

  3. Start your video with a brief spoken introduction telling us your name, where you’re from, your voice part, your musical background, and why you’d like to join the Eight Tracks. This doesn’t need to be more than 30-60 seconds.

  4. Sing a snippet of a pop song (either verse/chorus or bridge/chorus) without accompaniment that really shows us your voice. We want to get to know your range and vocal abilities. This shouldn’t be more than 60-90 seconds. A verse and chorus is plenty.

  5. Optional: If you do vocal percussion, show us your chops with a 30-60 second freestyle.

  6. When you’re done recording, upload your video to YouTube as an unlisted video or upload to your Google Drive and send us the link by email at theeighttracks@gmail.com by January 30th, 2022.

After a year and a half of performing virtually, we're excited to put together a new group of tracks that will show a diverse group of voices and styles, so that we can bring the joy of in-person performances to audiences in the near future. Check out our Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube pages to see everything we've accomplished not only in the past 22 months, but in the past 8 years of The Eight Tracks.

Have fun making your audition video! We can’t wait to hear from you!
